This website is dedicated to all those friends who love
and admire Ofrah Haza, and in her honour and holy memory I'm glad to
have done any effort to gather her songs lyrics as it has been requested
by many of them.
Songs are listed according to the albums in which they were released,
except those special releases in singles or elsewhere.
To make this website complete would be not an easy task and it would
take a long time; I'll be thankful to whoever may help by sending me
songs lyrics still not present here, either in Hebrew or transcriptions
- translations are also welcome, maybe to be included in a next website...

TRANSCRIPTION PATTERNS
Transcription from Hebrew into western spelling is not fully exact,
only approximate. Anyway, I've tried to write as much faithfully as
possible, in order to make reading close to actual sound. Knowledge
of Yiddish or German may help. Transcription, or rather addition, of
vowels (as most of them are not written in Hebrew) is done according
to these languages rather than English, both bor exactness and simplification.
For example, "U" sounds like "OO" in "book", but not as "OO" in "door"
; "I" sounds like "EE" in "sheep", etc. Vowels are often exchangeable:
a/e, o/u, a/o, etc. so that transcription of many words may be done
in two ways, for example: manginat/manginot, moladet/moledet, tzur manoti/tzur
menati, etc. Both ways are correct, and transcription is done on a personal
choice basis.
A very frequent sound in Hebrew is "CH", that is not possible to write
in English as the sound does not exist in this language - it's closely
similar to "CH" in German/Yiddish, to "X" in Russian, to "J" in Spanish.
It's sometimes written "H", usually when beginning a word, like in "Haza"
or "Hai", or also "KH".
Songs in Aramaic follow the same patterns, with some additions: "W",
that sounds like "W" in English and not like "W" in German, and "DZH",
a sound not existing in Hebrew, is like "J" in "jazz".
I've chosen to write the ending "H" instead of eliding it, as it's a
more accurate transcription; that's why I write "Ofrah".
Anyway, the best way to understand how each character should be pronounced
is: read the lyrics while listenig to Ofrah's holy beautiful voice!!!
